要旨 In this paper, we have historically redesigned the meaning of the term “innovation”. The results show that by modifying the memories, impressions, and imaginations we have associated with the term “innovation”, the social sciences may also be able to achieve the same advancement as that of the natural sciences, and be able to generate knowledge, technology, and businesses. The term “innovation” does not yet fulfil the same function as does “motion” in physics or “evolution” in biology. From the perspective of looking back at the history of advancement of learning, regarding its economical nature, the social sciences should now be able to get over the "tautological word-play” as it existed in physics before Newton and the "teleological analysis of function" as it was in biology before Darwin. By giving life, motion, and brains to machines, societies can now be observed and described as a world created by people instead of a delusion or illusion in the minds of a few.
